In Memory still Bright: Johnny Sekka
Found on B5TV and confirmed in Variety: Johnny Sekka, Dr. Kyle in The Gathering, passed away on Sept. 14 due to lung cancer. He was 72 years old.
To absent friends... Jan

I posted the Variety link to the Mod as well, in case you haven't already.
Sad news. I always thought it a shame we never had another chance to see Dr. Kyle. Regards, Joe

I would have enjoyed seeing that also. If the Lost Tales had started just after Crusade ended, perhaps we could have seen Dr. Kyle turning his job over to Steven Franklin.
I don't recall ever seeing Johnny Sekka in any other parts but he was definitely one of those actors to whom I could have listened for hours. Beautiful voice and diction. Jan

Dear gods ... I wish I hadn't read this. Johnny was one of the best actors to grace the Babylon 5 soundstages, in my opinion. He was one of the best out there.
This is a horrible loss. ![]() Johnny, may you rest in peace. |

Both our threads finally popped up on the mod. We posted about an hour apart. Regards, Joe

Given my record with new threads, it was only about 50/50 that it'd show up at all in the next week so it's good that you started one, too, Joe. That guaranteed they'd both show up. I think it's a rule.

I moderate three times a day, at least. If something isn't showing up, it hasn't reached the moderation queue, and there's some problem between thee and we. Today there was an usually long delay because I was out of the house, having a life, and so missed moderating in the middle of the day as I usually would.
But do note that in general, you can count on new threads showing up the same day, which I can guarantee has happened the lion's share of the time since I started moderating and taking some of the weight off of the other mods' shoulders... |

Amy dear, that was in no way any comment about your moderating which has vastly improved the lag over there. It was a comment on how Usenet often swallows up posts for days or more at a time. Sorry, I thought that was clear enough in my post.

Amy:
No criticism of the moderation was intended or even implied. Honest. Joe P.S. Have you considered decaf? Just a thought. ![]() Joe

Decaf is for heathens.
