I and John Copeland select all of the directors on the show.

Parenthetical to this: there are only 3 people who are in charge
of this show: me, my partner Doug Netter (who mainly gets into the
business aspect and casting), and producer John Copeland. That's it.
Ain't nobody else. We're very producer light on this show.

End parenthetical.

We go for directors whose work we know as a rule. In some
cases, an agent will send us a reel (clips) of a director whose work we
don't know, and if the material looks good, we'll sit down with the
director (whichever way he/she came in) and see if their philosophy of
production is the same as ours. If so, we give 'em a shot. If they
work out, they do more; if not, not. We've actually got a pretty good
track record on picking directors, and have rarely made a mistake we
couldn't recover from.

We'll be off for Thanksgiving weekend, then we shoot until
December 19th, which takes us through 514. We're on hiatus until
January 2nd, then we come back and shoot 515-522 (actually the 21st
episode of S5 since 422 is now 522 and 501 was made 422), wrapping
production on March 20th. Then we take a few weeks off to let the cast
and crew catch their breath, and shoot the third TNT TV-movie in April.

No, the third movie has yet to be shot. Thirdspace and the
prequel are already filmed.

"any idea when Channel 4 in the UK will show the movies?"

No, that information has not yet found its way to me.

"This sounds like the basis for a Danny Kaye patter song..."

"The vessel with the pestle has the potion with the poison, the
flagon with the dragon holds the brew that is true...."

Something is seriously wrong with me that I know that by heart.

"Fatigue Psychosis, obviously! YOU MUST SLEEP NOW...."

Boy, don't I know it...worked all weekend on 515, "Meditations
on the Abyss," finished it at 2 a.m. last night (Sunday night/Monday
morning), turned my attention to finishing the outline for the second
B5 novel in the Psi Corps trilogy coming out next year from Del Rey
until 4 a.m., then from 4-4:45 a.m. viewed the director's cut of 510
and made my notes so I could go in this morning, getting up at 9 a.m.
to do my producer's cut.

I hate Mondays.
